Bethel Farm Christian Retreat

Statement of Faith

The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God’s infallible written Word,  We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written without error in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme final authority and sufficient for Holy Living.

We believe that the Word of God is powerful and eternal and the only source of truth.

We minister to the Body of Christ and therefore focus on the beliefs which unite rather than those which might divide.

We believe:

  1. There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of God.

  2. Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Jesus is perfect God and true humanity united in one person forever.

  3. Jesus lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for human sins by dying on the cross as a substitute.

  4. Through the shed blood of Jesus, He accomplished salvation by grace alone for all who trust in Him alone. Salvation is not by any human merit.

  5. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended intoheaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and humanity, continually makes intercession for His own.

  6. Adam and Eve were originally created in the image of God. They sinned by disobeying God; thus, they were alienated from their Creator. That historic fall brought all people under divine condemnation.

  7. Human nature is corrupted. As a result, all people are totally unable to please God. Everyone is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

  8. The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ. He convicts us of our sin and draws sinners to Christ He imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. His fullness, power is available to all believer's by faith.

  9. Believers are called to holy living.

  10. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all people, living and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith.

  11. God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, prayer and edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement.

  12. Jesus Christ will come again to the earth – personally, visibly and bodily – to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.He will establish His millennial reign.

  13. The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel and baptise throughout the world and to disciple people from every nation.

  14. The fulfillment of that Great Commission requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total and unconditional surrender.

  15. Jesus taught there a real hell for those who reject Him and a real heaven for those who receive Him by faith as Saviour.

  16. God's measuring stick of Christian life is love. Those who love and know Jesus will have lives which show generosity and overflowing love.

  17. The Body of Christ is sacred and we are called to love His people in the same way that Jesus loves them - with a servant's heart.

  18. As Christians, we should focus on the things we have in common, rather than on those things which divide. Nevertheless, we stand on the above doctrine and see it as the basis of our faith.

  19.
